I go to Amara Wellness and I have had great experiences all around. They are professional and they care about your physical and mental well being. The wait list for one-on-one therapeutic services was only about two weeks. Now I recently started to receive Primary Care as well. Same superb professional service! Highly recommend. Shawn, Caitlyn and Dr Trish are all amazing amazing people! Do not miss appointments as you will be discharged! Understandably so as people are in need of these services. I read the other reviews and everyone should know, “No, they will not refill prescriptions there. They can’t as that is through another agency called Med Assist which you must qualify for and Amara has nothing to do with Med Assist of North Carolina. Also, if you take benzo’s they WILL NOT prescribe or re-prescribe these types of addicting drugs. Duh!!!” Dr G (Giwhala) is on staff and I do not know of any previous issues with regards to this psychiatrist/licensure problems, however, I see a Nurse Practitioner for my mental health needs and she has been very caring and professional. She knows her stuff and makes sure that the prescriptions that we jointly decide on for my mental health fo not interfere with my blood pressure or my sugars - wright gain etc. She checks in with me biweekly to make sure I’m not having any side effects. Most Nurse Practitioners have better one-on-one bed side manners anyway. I highly recommend this office to anyone who needs help. They have art therapy and group therapy, too. The front office staff are caring as well. They fax for free and sometimes offer free lunch coupons at a local restaurant. Frustrating when people write reviews and fail to give accurate information.
My daughter has been going there and they have been great. The area is not the best but with the service we have gotten I will not complain. Dr. G has been a blessing! Nurses and staff have always been good to us!
